MicroTechnica was recognized in the category of “Process Intelligence and innovation” for our Automatic Line Clearance System (ALC).
TOKYO, Japan, May 19, 2021 - MicroTechnica announced that the automatic line clearance system (“ALC”) that was developed and implemented since 2018 in collaboration with Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited (“Takeda”) was recognized in the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) for the 2021 Facility Of the Year Awards (FOYA). The project “Packaging Building and Automatic Line Clearance” in Takeda’s new solid pharmaceutical packaging building in Hikari, Japan won the 2021 “Process Intelligence and Innovation” category award.
ISPE's Facility of the Year Awards is an annual program that recognizes state-of-the-art projects utilizing new, innovative technologies to improve the quality of products, to reduce the cost of producing high-quality medicines, and demonstrate advances in project delivery.
The awarded manufacturing facility, Hikari plant is located in Yamaguchi prefecture, Japan. One of Takeda`s largest plants, the project took place in F36 Building and it is a four-story building designed to elevate pharmaceutical packaging operations to a new industrial standard. As a part of the project, we have installed ALC for multiple packaging lines.
We are honored that we could get involved in such a wonderful project as a system developer. Although the line clearance operations are a part of packaging processes, we believe that its automation could contribute to the increased efficiency of the entire packaging operations.
